Visa Reports Strong Earnings Driven by Payment Volume Growth and Cross-Border Activity
Visa posted robust financial results, with GAAP net income reaching $5.9 billion and non-GAAP net income climbing to $6.1 billion. Earnings per share ROSE 15% to $3.17, while revenue surged 15% year-over-year to $10.9 billion. The payments giant attributed its performance to holiday spending, increased consumer demand, and growth across all business lines.
Payment volume rose 8% for the quarter ending December 31, 2025, with cross-border transactions excluding intra-Europe jumping 11%. The company processed 69.4 billion transactions, a 9% increase from the prior year. Service revenue grew 13% to $4.8 billion, while data processing revenue climbed 17% to $5.5 billion.
CEO Ryan highlighted the company's momentum in value-added services and money movement, noting strong consumer activity as the primary driver. Visa returned $5.1 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends, underscoring its financial strength.
